The first issue of the newspaper Preporod was published on September 15, 1970, and has been continuously released and distributed in Bosnia and Herzegovina and worldwide since then. Preporod has earned a reputation as one of the most significant print media outlets in Bosnia and Herzegovina, providing verified information, articles, and analyses for the past 50 years to promote universal values. Its name reflects its goal and purpose: to continuously progress towards improving individuals and society in line with the demands of the time and the Quranic message that serves as the motto of Preporod, featured as part of its logo on the cover: "Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change themselves."
Since its establishment, by promoting independent thinking and journalism, Preporod has featured contributions from prominent domestic and international figures from various scientific and cultural fields, irrespective of their religious or political beliefs. These are newspapers that have upheld the principle of combating narrow and closed religious, national, and ideological frameworks.
One of Preporod's distinct assets is that it serves as a kind of encyclopedia of tradition, heritage, culture, and history that has existed for centuries in these regions. It is nearly impossible to engage in any research on Islamic thought or the centuries-old traditions of this region without consulting Preporod as a source, which is now cited in all major academic papers and publications. Furthermore, Preporod is a media outlet that has never severed its direct connection with the people whose opinions it values and articulates through various journalistic forms.
